ALPS Expresses Deep Gratitude to the Johnston Family Following Incredible ‘Coffee & Cars’ Event in Memory of Oisín

On behalf of everyone at ALPS (All Lives Are Precious), we want to express our profound gratitude, humility, and admiration to the Johnston family and their entire community following the extraordinary success of the Coffee & Cars event held on the 26th September—one month ago today.

Together, an astonishing £33,345.05 was raised to support ALPS’ ongoing suicide awareness, prevention, and mental health support services across our local communities.

To see how Oisín’s family turned their profound grief into a powerful beacon of hope, unity, and community action has been nothing short of inspiring. We are deeply honoured that they chose to support ALPS and stand alongside us in raising vital awareness.

Oisín was a remarkable young man—a "weekend millionaire," a skilled tinkerer who loved older cars, a loving son who adored his "Ma" and respected his dad, and a kind soul who never hesitated to pull over and help a stranded driver without asking for anything in return.

On the day of the event, his spirit was everywhere. From the sound of engines and laughter to the poignant sight of Oisín’s own Bora being brought in on a trailer, it was a true reflection of the boy he was and the massive impact he made in his life. As Oisín’s mum so beautifully put it, “it takes a village to raise a child.” The event proved how strong, compassionate, and united that village really is.

It was about so much more than the money raised. It brought people together, created genuine moments of joy, sparked vital conversations around road safety alongside our emergency services, and helped break down the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide.

Every single penny of the £33,345.05 raised will go directly toward helping ALPS continue our frontline work—supporting families when they need it most, offering support services, and building resilience in our young people so they have the tools to navigate life’s emotional turmoils.

To the Johnston family: Thank you for your immense courage, your generosity, and for making ALPS a part of Oisín’s story. You have turned a personal tragedy into a legacy that will save lives in our community.

To everyone who bought a ticket, donated a prize, sponsored, volunteered, towed a car, or simply turned up to share a story and a cup of coffee—thank you.

Oisín’s legacy is living on in the lives we will continue to reach.

We look forward to standing with the Johnston family again at Coffee & Cars 2027.

Together, we remember Oisín.

Together, we remind everyone that All Lives Are Precious.
