ALPs works with 20,000 children aged 4 to 11

This is truly breathtaking, ALPs journey over the last 24 months is astonishing, none of us ever thought it could be possible.


Due to one Principal from Saint Mary's Primary School in Portaferry challenging us to do some work with his children alps has completely developed a dedicated service solely to educate our children and young people. This service is run by fully qualified youth workers, teachers, health care professionals and appropriately trained members of our community.

In addition to this we are now fully registered with the Education Authority as a recognised service provider for schools and youth clubs.


This week we sat down to record all of our work for 2018/2020 and it was only when we actively recorded our statistics for schools work we realised exactly how much we have achieved.


From our first outing in February 2018 we have now been brought into provide our services in each of the following schools.

Saint Patrick's Ballynahinch- 14.Saint Peter's Primary School Divis, 15.Saint Joseph's Primary School Slate Street 16.Cedar integrated primary School 17. Saint Kierans Poleglass 18.Our Lady and Saint Patrick's Downpatrick 19.John the Baptist Primary School 20. Saint Nicholas Primary School Ardglass 21. Portavogie Primary School 22. In addition to this we have provided further training to - Saint Peters Imaculatta Youth Club, Mat Talbot Youth Club--Holy Trinity Youth Club and Swatragh GAA Club.

In our attempts to reach out to the whole community we have also created partnerships with Downpatrick Youth League, Downpatrick RGU and Downpatrick Football Club.

In total now to date in just a short 14 months we have engaged over 16,500 children between the ages of 4 to 11 alone, but this is only the beginning, we plan to work in every school, youth club and community we can and we look to you to help us by spreading the word of our services.
