We are struggling to find the right words to express the depth of our gratitude. The recent Hike for Hope Charity Sunrise Hike hosted by Mid Ulster Hikers did more than just scale Slieve Gallion; it demonstrated the boundless warmth, compassion, and community spirit of everyone involved. Today, we are overjoyed to share that the event raised a spectacular grand total of £23,526.
Here at ALPS, we are profoundly moved and completely blown away by the overwhelming generosity of the Mid Ulster Hikers. To every single person who laced up their boots, braved the early morning chill, donated, or cheered the walkers on—thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.
Please know that your hard work and kindness will directly change lives. Every single penny raised from this event is going straight to the frontline of local mental health support. The grand total has been split equally, with an incredible £7,840 each being donated to three organizations working tirelessly in our communities: ALPS, STEPS, and SOLAS.
"We are filled with immense gratitude for the Mid Ulster Hikers," shared an ALPS spokesperson. "An injection of £7,840 into our services is a profound gift. It allows us to keep our doors open, continue our vital suicide prevention work, and offer immediate mental health training and support to those who need it most. We walked together into the sunrise, and your kindness has brought genuine light into very dark places."
The breathtaking sunrise may have marked the end of the trek, but the legacy of your kindness is just beginning. You have set the bar incredibly high, showing just how much can be achieved when people unite for a common cause. It leaves us feeling inspired, deeply blessed, and asking one big question as we look toward the future.
On behalf of the entire team at ALPS, and alongside STEPS and SOLAS, we want to say it one more time: Thank you, Mid Ulster Hikers. You didn't just hike; you showed up for your neighbors, your friends, and your community. You are saving lives.
